Woman, son die in Amravati fire

A woman and her 11-month-old son died after their house caught fire. While the boy died on the spot, the woman succumbed to her injuries at a local hospital.

AMRAVATI: A woman and her 11-month-old son died after their house caught fire. The incident occurred when Lakshmi Agarwal (25), was pouring kerosene in a lamp, sources said.
While Krishna was declared dead on Thursday, Lakshmi succumbed to her injuries at a local hospital on Friday morning.
According to information, Lakshmi's husband Anil Agrawal, who runs eight oil mills on contract basis, lived with his family at Mittal Market near Jawahar Gate.

According to Lakshmi's dying declaration, she was filling kerosene in the lamp as there is power cut in the evenings. Her son Krishna came there and a lamp fell on the ground, setting the room on fire. As a result both she and Krishna sustained burns.
Her husband wasn't present when the incident occurred, however, his other family members rushed Lakshmi and her son's to a private neary hospital. Krishna was declared dead the same night and Lakshmi died on Friday morning.
Meanwhile, on learning about the incident, Lakshmi's parents rushed to Amravati and expressed apprehensions about foul play in their daughter's death.
During the preliminary probe, the police found that Lakshmi's in-laws allegedly harassed her for dowry so she set herself afire. Unfortunately Krishna too died in the incident, sources said.
